Dr. Jaclyn Walker AKA Dr. Diva co-owns her own consulting firm, Glamour Prestige with her sister, Velvet Smith that has a foundation, and a vision board event planning/product line. The consulting firm has several professional development workshops for educators to include observation/feedback and the creation of lesson plans and instructional materials. The vision board event planning/product line allows her to help people from all “walks of life” set goals, dreams and visions with family, friends or like-minded individuals through a vision board party, workshop or “do-it-yourself” kit. In addition, her foundation is the “M.A.N. (Men Alleviating Negativity) Foundation which is dedicated to African-American convicted felons that want to end recidivism through trainings, workshops and counseling sessions. She recently added fashion designer to her repertoire as she recently released 2 clothing lines, Pacaloozie which is named after her significant other and The Juicy Jones Collection which is explicitly for dogs and their humans. Pacaloozie is fashion for your future because it helps you to define your inner self. The Juicy Jones Collection is a line of two set shirt collections, so you can be as fly as your dog.
She currently is a Program Specialist for Curriculum and Instruction within the Portsmouth Public School division.
She also was a full-time Special Education Supervisor for one of the local school districts in the state of Virginia. Before becoming a supervisor, Dr.Walker was an i3 Math Coach for Portsmouth Public Schools. She was also a Program Coordinator for Evaluations for the Office of Special Education for the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS). In addition, she was a special educator and department head for Portsmouth Public Schools in Virginia. As a teacher, she won the Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year award in 2006. She also was the Individualized Education Program Coordinator for the Foundation School, a non-public school that serves emotionally disturbed students from Prince George County Schools and the District of Columbia in a secluded setting.
Dr. Walker received her bachelor’s degree in general broadcasting from Norfolk State University. She received her Master of Education degree in special education and her Educational Specialist degree in educational leadership from Cambridge. She received her doctorate degree in Educational Leadership/Management at Capella University in Minnesota. She formerly co-owned a mobile technology company, PYT that specialized in professional development for teachers and media presentations. That company executed a media presentation for a local senator's birthday.
